Why the name Medusa? ‘Medusa‘ was a nickname chosen by a friend when discussing performing arts stage names based on my love of snakes (I have two at home) and my bifurcated tongue. After a few years, almost all my friends were referring to me as Medusa, and it stuck.
What got you into tattooing? I was always an artist. When I was little, I would draw designs all over my arms and legs in marker. Eventually my mom expressed she hoped I wouldn't end up in a tattoo shop with all the other misfits and that’s where I first got the idea. Thanks, Mom!
What inspires you? I draw inspiration from several sources. I love nature, animals, plants, and various organic matter. Dark oddities and the occult have heavy impressions on my creations. I believe in spirits, sorcery, and divination and want to portray the life unknown in my work. I also draw influence from my musical tastes, which can vary from rock n roll to classical, as well as disco and pop and many other genres. I believe everything is influential if you have an open mind.
